Lakes Entrance Surf beaches, Eastern and Bunga producing salmon on lures and blue bait. The footbridge and Myer Street Jetty for trevally on pilchards. Some salmon at the Post Office Jetty. Nungurner flats for whiting on pippies. Six and Eight Mile Reef for pinkies, rubber lipped morwong, nanigi and leather jacket on pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers Flathead and bream are still in the lake system with the best spot for bream being Mill Point using live prawn. The Glass House banks are best for flathead preferring pilchards. Try the surf for salmon on lures, pilchards and poppers.
Mitchell River
From Eagle Point and up to the back waters for bream. Bestresults using spider crab, prawn and worm.
Tambo River Bream are a bit quiet, but try the Cliffs and heading down to the Highway Bridge. Rough Road to Punthouse Point also worth a look using prawn and worm.
Nicholson The Cliffs and Car bodies heading towards the
reeds and the swimming hole for bream on worm and soft plastics
Metung Whiting at Silver Shot on worm and pippies. The town jetties and boardwalk are producing bream. Best results using prawn.
Paynesville Bait prawn have arrived and as a result Shallow
Banks and Sand Flats have flathead. Mullet on worm are to be found around the
town jetties.
Holland’s Landing Lake Victoria at Waverley Point to Pelican Bay for bream, mullet and tailor on worm. Tom’s Creek and Blonde Bay for bream, mullet and flathead on worm, soft shell and peeled prawn.
Marlo
Surf for salmon and tailor on pilchard and poppers. The Brodribb River for bream. The lake has bream and luderick as well. Rain water is quickly clearing through the system.
Bemm River The lake and river for bream on prawn and worm. A few good size luderick are cruising the channel taking sandworm. There are also flathead and trevally in the lake taking soft plastics.
Tamboon Inlet Flathead are cruising at Eagan’s Bank and Pelican Pond on lures and blue bait. Bream are in the main lake on prawn.
Mallacoota The lake system is producing flathead with best results using lures and live potties. Bream are up the Genoa and Wallagaraugh Rivers. Best results using bass yabbies. Luderick are at the Fisheries Jetty on weed. Salmon and tailor are taking lures in the lake.
Omeo High Country
The Mitta Mitta and rives above are best for trout taking spinners, soft plastics and fly pattens.
